Rhyme Scheme: AABC DDEE FGHI JJKK FFLL MMNNOO PQRS OOTT

My minds trapped in this boxA
and there's this pain on it that's heavier than an oxA
There's no escape and I'm weakB
I've tried pushed to the extent I'm sickC
-
This transparent box partial freedomD
My only way out is All knowing WisdomD
I could hear fresh air pass byE
I could see a bed on which I could lieE
-
I see trampolines and children bouncing on itF
I see a plate with something I could eatG
I see freedom I see changeH
How I wish that I could flip this pageI
-
I'm tired of walking aroundJ
In the same square that kept me boundJ
I'm tired of living in darknessK
'Cos it pains me as from far I could see brightnessK
-
But I can't reach itF
I just see itF
I've been trying hard to break pass this wallL
I'm tired of feeling so smallL
-
All I ask for is to be freeM
To live a life of being meM
I'm tired of being bound in chainsN
It's causing me painsN
I'm tired of the heat and the pretendingO
I want to live a life that's gratifyingO
-
Ah yes even from afar I see a futureP
A blissful one yes I'm sureQ
No need to fearR
Just have to bearS
-
An end to struggle and pain is comingO
A time for joy instead of mourningO
It's going to end one dayT
It's going to end I sayT

Bright Kingsley

Poet's note: I wrote this poem at the beginning of the year 2021, I felt so much struggle and pain, break ups and tears were what happened to me, but I still motivated myself, even if I've not healed totally from the pain, I know better days are coming and I wrote the poem to help others who are in my shoes to have hope.
