Cycle Of Wonder Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EFGG HHII JJEE

Reds golds and ambers cover the treesA
Cascades of leaves all dance on the breezeA
Twisting and twirling with effortless graceB
Balletic visions all over the placeB
-
Raindrops on windows spatter the sillsC
Trickling down necks with shivers and chillsC
Branches waving in choreographed danceD
Above tree trunks swaying in rhythmic stanceD
-
The frowns of the skies are mirrored belowE
On lakes and on seas their heaviness showsF
The waters respond with white tipped motionG
Waves large and small from rivers and oceanG
-
Winter is coming they all seem to sayH
Soon the whiteness will conquer the greyH
Softly and silently snowflakes will fallI
Sifting and drifting and covering allI
-
Nothing is permanent the sun will returnJ
Springtime is waiting for the seasons to turnJ
Summer has slept and is ready to goE
With warmth and bright colours in her annual showE

Poet's note: When all seems grey and there is so much uncertainty and fear, it's good to realise that nothing is for ever, not bad times, bad weather, or bad luck. The seasons turn and we go on.
