A Moral Vindicator Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

If Mr Jones Lycurgus BA
Had one peculiar qualityA
'Twas his severe advocacyA
Of conjugal fidelityA
-
His views of heaven were very freeA
His views of life were painfullyA
Ridiculous but ferventlyA
He dwelt on marriage sanctityA
-
He frequently went on a spreeA
But in his wildest revelryA
On this especial subject heA
Betrayed no ambiguityA
-
And though at times Lycurgus BA
Did lay his hands not lovinglyA
Upon his wife the sanctityA
Of wedlock was his guarantyA
-
But Mrs Jones declined to seeA
Affairs in the same light as heA
And quietly got a decreeA
Divorcing her from that L BA
-
And what did Jones Lycurgus BA
With his known idiosyncrasyA
He smiled a bitter smile to seeA
And drew the weapon of BowieA
-
He did what Sickles did to KeyA
What Cole on Hiscock wrought did heA
In fact on persons twenty threeA
He proved the marriage sanctityA
-
The counselor who took the feeA
The witnesses and refereeA
The judge who granted the decreeA
Died in that wholesale butcheryA
-
And then when Jones Lycurgus BA
Had wiped the weapon of BowieA
Twelve jurymen did instantlyA
Acquit and set Lycurgus freeA
