The Marching Morrows. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHCH CIJI CKCK LMNO PQOQ RSCS DTDT NRUR

Now gird thee well for courageA
My knight of twenty yearB
Against the marching morrowsC
That fill the world with fearB
-
The flowers fade before themD
The summer leaves the hillE
Their trumpets range the morningF
And those who hear grow stillE
-
Like pillagers of harvestG
Their fame is far abroadH
As gray remorseless troopersC
That plunder and maraudH
-
The dust is on their corseletsC
Their marching fills the worldI
With conquest after conquestJ
Their banners are unfurledI
-
They overthrow the battlesC
Of every lord of warK
From world dominioned citiesC
Wipe out the names they boreK
-
Sohrab Rameses RolandL
Ramoth Napoleon TyreM
And the Romeward Huns of AttilaN
Alas for their desireO
-
By April and by autumnP
They perish in their prideQ
And still they close and gatherO
Out of the mountain sideQ
-
The tanned and tameless childrenR
Of the wild elder earthS
With stature of the northlightsC
They have the stars for girthS
-
There's not a hand to stay themD
Of all the hearts that braveT
No captain to undo themD
No cunning to off staveT
-
Yet fear thou not If haplyN
Thou be the kingly oneR
They'll set thee in their vanguardU
To lead them round the sunR
