Down through its mystery and a single fleck | F |
The tiniest sun mote settling through the air | G |
Fell on the grape dark surface and there swam | H |

Stretched hand to clear the speck away No no | I |
His comrade stayed his arm Why said the first | D |
What would you have me do Ah let it float | D |
A moment longer And the second smiled | D |
Do you not know what that is No indeed | D |
A mere dust mote a speck of soot you think | J |
A plague germ still unsatisfied It is not | D |
That is the Earth See I will stretch my hand | D |
Between it and the sun the passing shadow | I |
Gives its poor dwellers a glacial period | D |
Let it but stand an hour it would dissolve | K |
Intangible as the color of the wine | L |
There throw it away now Lift it from the sweet | D |
Enveloping flood it has enjoyed so well | M |
He smiled as only those who live can smile | N |
Its time is done its revelry complete | D |
Its being accomplished Let us drink again | O |
