The First Julep Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF EGEG

I love the lazy Southern springA
The way she melts around a chapB
And lets the great magnolias flingA
Their languid petals in his lapB
-
I love to travel down half wayC
And meet her coming up the earthD
With hurdy gurdy men who playC
And make the children dance for mirthD
-
But best of all I love to steerE
For quiet corners not too farF
Where the first juleps reappearE
With fresh green mint behind the barF
-
P S Perhaps you'll think it queerE
But I do not dislike a hintG
To let the juleps disappearE
And stick my nose into the mintG
