Nocturne: In Anjou Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIDJKLM

I dreamed of Sappho on a summer nightA
Her nightingales were singing in the treesB
Beside the castled river and the windC
Fell like a woman's fingers on my cheekD
And then I slept and dreamed and marked no changeE
The night went on with me into my dreamF
This only I remember that I criedG
O Sappho ere I leave this paradiseH
Sing me one song of those lost books of yoursI
For which we poets still go sorrowingD
That when I meet my fellows on the earthJ
I may rejoice them more than many pearlsK
And she the sweetly smiling answered meL
As one who dreams I have forgotten themM
