And He who was bent on fashioning manB
Moulded a shape from a clodC
And put the loyal heart thereinD
While another stood watching byE
-
What's that said BeelzebubE
A lover said GodC
And Beelzebub frowned for he knew that kindC
-
And then God fashioned a fellow shapeF
As lithe as a willow rodC
And gave it the merry roving eyeE
And the range of the open roadC
-

And Beelzebub smiled for he knew that kindC
-
And last of all God fashioned a formG
And gave it what was oddC
The loyal heart and the roving eyeE
And he whistled light of careH
-
What's that said BeelzebubE
A poet said GodC
And Beelzebub frowned for he did not knowA
