The Maiden On The Shore Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBBB AACCCC AADEDD

She wandered so young on the shore aroundA
Her thoughts were by naught on earth now boundA
Soon came there a painter his art he pliedB
Above the tideB
In shadow wideB
He painted the shore and herself besideB
-
More slowly she wandered near him aroundA
Her thoughts by a single thing were boundA
And this was his picture wherein he drewC
Herself so trueC
Herself so trueC
Reflected in ocean with heaven's blueC
-
All driven and drawn far and wide aroundA
Her thoughts now by everything were boundA
Far over the ocean and yet most dearD
The shore right hereE
The man so nearD
Did ever the sunshine so bright appearD
