Another Reason Why I Don't Keep A Gun In The House Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD ACEFA GHI AAJK LMNO

The neighbors' dog will not stop barkingA
He is barking the same high rhythmic barkB
that he barks every time they leave the houseC
They must switch him on on their way outD
-
The neighbors' dog will not stop barkingA
I close all the windows in the houseC
and put on a Beethoven symphony full blastE
but I can still hear him muffled under the musicF
barking barking barkingA
-
and now I can see him sitting in the orchestraG
his head raised confidently as if BeethovenH
had included a part for barking dogI
-
When the record finally ends he is still barkingA
sitting there in the oboe section barkingA
his eyes fixed on the conductor who isJ
entreating him with his batonK
-
while the other musicians listen in respectfulL
silence to the famous barking dog soloM
that endless coda that first establishedN
Beethoven as an innovative geniusO
