What I Long To Be Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDED FGHIJKLMN

When I have fears that I may cease to beA
Before my pen has gleaned my teening brainB
Before high piled books in charactery come to existenceC
Before my words steam from them pages openingD
And vapours into world men's highsE
Before I go dry and stop the penningD
-
When I behold say am downing my pen and booksF
I'll be satisfied still that they saw my worksG
I'll say I shared my mind and asset with thy worldH
Then I'll deem myself an achieverI
Who said and was heardJ
Who penned and stained all's mindsK
And shall forever be in memory of all I wrote toL
But nowM
Till love and fame in nothingness do sinkN

Poet's note: This poem came about in thought of the days when I will have stopped writing. I want to be remembered for having penned something, and that before my pen stops writing, I will want to have done something big, words out there under my own name, impacting lives and much more.

Miriam Onyancha: Such a nice poem Kipkoech, it's a great inspiration to others who have the ability to write but are hesitating to awaken and write to transform lives of many and give encouragement to others
