Abraham Lincoln Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIHJKLK MNOPDQRQ ISTSUHUH

Down thru endless agesA
Came a soul from others apartB
Incased in a body of awkward appearanceC
But in a true heavenly made heartB
He was born in a hewed log cabinD
Grew up simple and plainE
This life on earth a sacrificeF
To remove from liberty a stainE
-
No pen can give him due creditG
No words the good of his mindH
But his love is forever burningI
In the hearts of all human kindH
The world now bows to his honorJ
And hail this emancipator' nameK
Columbia is proud of his memoryL
He lives in everlasting fameK
-
His life of bitter sorrowM
Hard work and saddened tearsN
Has made happy millions of humansO
And will for the future yearsP
O Father hear us in heavenD
May his reward increase ten foldQ
To repay for the great good he did usR
While his clay on earth lies coldQ
-
His life is a lesson for the livingI
Shows democracy is strength and sandS
That a good mind no matter how humbleT
Can spread peace and love o'er the landS
In God we trust our nation allU
Our reward was grand and kindH
For we'll always live and never fallU
By following this wonderful mindH
