On The Boundary Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEAFAAGHGIAJA ABKBLAMA ANANOAPA QRSRTUVA

I Love the ancient boundary fenceA
That mouldering chock and logB
When I go ride the boundaryC
I let the old horse jogD
And take his pleasure in and outE
Where the sandalwood grows denseA
And tender pines clasp hands acrossF
The log that tops the fenceA
Tis pleasant on the boundary fenceA
These sultry summer daysG
A mile away outside the scrubH
The plain is all ablazeG
The sheep are panting on the campsI
The heat is so intenseA
But here the shade is cool and sweetJ
Along the boundary fenceA
-
I love to loaf along the fenceA
So does my collie dogB
He often finds a spotted catK
Hid in a hollow logB
He s very near as old as IL
And ought to have more senseA
I ve hammered him so many timesM
Along the boundary fenceA
-
My mother says that boundary fenceA
Must surely be bewitchedN
The old man says that through that fenceA
The neighbours are enrichedN
It s always down and through the gapsO
Our stock all get them henceA
I takes me half my time to watchP
The doings of that fenceA
-
But should you seek the reasonQ
You won t travel very farR
Tis there a mile away amongS
The murmuring BelarR
The Jones s block joins on to oursT
And so in consequenceU
It s part of Polly s work to rideV
Their side the boundary fenceA
