On War Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DDAA EEDF GHIJ KKLL

Great God whom heav'n and earth and seaA
With all their countless hosts obeyB
Upheld by whom the nations standC
And empires fall at thy commandC
-
Beneath thy long suspended ireD
Let papal Antichrist expireD
Thy knowledge spread from sea to seaA
'Till every nation bows to theeA
-
Then shew thyself the prince of peaceE
Make every hostile efforts ceaseE
All with thy sacred love inspireD
And burn their chariots in the fireF
-
In sunder break each warlike spearG
Let all the Saviour's liv'ry wearH
The universal Sabbath proveI
The utmost rest of Christian loveJ
-
The world shall then no discord knowK
But hand in hand to Canaan goK
Jesus the peaceful king adoreL
And learn the art of war no moreL
