Grace tis a charming soundA
Harmonious to mine earB
Heaven with the echo shall resoundA
And all the earth shall hearB
-
Grace first contrived the wayC
To save rebellious manD
And all the steps that grace displayC
Which drew the wondrous planD
-
Grace first inscribed my nameE
In God s eternal bookF
Twas grace that gave me to the LambG
Who all my sorrows tookF
-
Grace led my roving feetH
To tread the heavenly roadI
And new supplies each hour I meetH
While pressing on to GodJ
-
Grace taught my soul to prayC
And made mine eyes o erflowC
Twas grace which kept me to this dayC
And will not let me goK
-
Grace all the work shall crownL
Through everlasting daysM
It lays in heaven the topmost stoneN
And well deserves the praiseM
-
O let Thy grace inspireO
My soul with strength divineP
My all my powers to Thee aspireO
And all my days be ThineP
