Drought Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDEFGHG

A year after a year no drop of rainA
Dust rises high like smoke in the airB
Hills once green have turned brownC
Plains lay bald and completely bareB
Birds have fled to the far away landsD
Cows are dying each and everydayE
Children starving in their mothers' handsD
People and animals all die in the same wayE
Food is scarce and water is so dearF
A cup of water is worth a mine of goldG
It feels like the end is drawing nearerH
Sooner than in the stories we ve always been toldG
