The Wicked Guest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CDEF GHH IBJKK LMK NKK KKA

Far away from Africa I heard he has arrived somewhere in AsiaA
I heard he was a prince whose crown had tentaclesB
-
I heard the beauty of his tentacles will make you yearn to touchC
His fragrance could cause one to sneezeD
I heard his presence could take one's breath awayE
I heard he toured homes offices markets and even schools only to take the breath of his hostsF
-
Then he continued to Europe for his tour where he swept even royals off their feetG
Then I heard the temperate African clouds could melt his crownH
Then I was told the black complexion and fierce looks of the African will shrink the tentacles of his crownH
-
Oh thou tyrant of a prince how did you sneak into our homeI
How dare you prick us with your evil tentaclesB
No your crown of thorns have no place in our abodeJ
Your presenceK
suffocatesK
-
With impunity you are snatching our joy and freedomL
With arrogance you have corrupted our culture religion education and all that gives us joyM
Indeed your presence suffocatesK
-
Your new rules and norms we aboreN
How must we continue to greet our elders with our hands in our pockets or kick our selves instead of shaking handsK
How can mother and child observe social distanceK
-
I was told you have a crown yet I see biled thornsK
Bungarus multicintus how did you sneeked into our Africa and even the homes of our friendsK
With pain and hope in our hearts we shall fight and prevail and tell yet unborn generations of our golden crown and the CoronaA
