With April Arbutus, To A Friend Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCADDAEEFFGGHHEEI IJKKJ

Fairer than we the woods of MayA
Yet sweeter blossoms do not growB
Than these we send you from our snowB
Cramped are their stems by winter's coldC
And stained their leaves with last year's mouldC
For these are flowers which fought their wayA
Through ice and cold in sun and airD
With all a soul might do and dareD
Hope that outlives a world's decayA
Enduring faith that will not dieE
And love that gives not knowing whyE
Therefore we send them unto youF
And if they are not all your dueF
Once they have looked into your faceG
Your graciousness will give them placeG
You know they were not born to bloomH
Like roses in a crowded roomH
For though courageous they are shyE
Loving but one sweet hand and eyeE
Ah should you take them to the restI
The warmth the shelter of your breastI
Since on the bleakJ
And frozen bosom of our snowsK
They dared to smile on yours who knowsK
But that they might not dare to speakJ
