Wind And Rain Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE EEGE HIEI JKEK ELML EBNB

The rain came down on Boston TownA
And the people said Oh dearB
It's early yet for our annual wetC
'Twas dry this time last yearB
-
In heavy suits and rubber bootsD
They went to the weather manE
And said Dear friend do you intendF
To change your present planE
-
In tones of scorn he said BegoneE
I've ordered a week of rainE
Away disperse or I'll do worseG
And order a hurricaneE
-
They sneered Oh oh and they laughed Ho hoH
And they said You surely jestI
Your threats are vain for a hurricaneE
Is the thing that we like bestI
-
Our throats are tinned and a sharp east windJ
We really couldn't do withoutK
But we complain of too much rainE
And we think we'd like a droughtK
-
So the weather man took a palm leaf fanE
And he waved it up on highL
And he swept away the clouds so grayM
And the sun shone out in the skyL
-
And the sun shines down on Boston TownE
And the weather still is clearB
And they set their clocks by the equinoxN
And never the east wind fearB
