Uncle Jogalong Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EAEA FGFG HIHI

My dear old Uncle JogalongA
Was very slow was very slowB
And said he thought that folks were wrongA
To hurry so to hurry soB
-
When he walked out upon the streetC
To take the air to take the airD
It seemed almost as if his feetC
Were fastened there were fastened thereD
-
He thought that traveling by railE
Was hurrying and scurryingA
But said the slow and creeping snailE
Was just the thing was just the thingA
-
He thought a hasty appetiteF
An awful crime an awful crimeG
So never finished breakfast quiteF
Till dinner time till dinner timeG
-
He said the world turned round so fastH
He could not stay he could not stayI
And so he said Good by at lastH
And went away and went awayI
