Master Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABACDEFGF AHIHJ KFLF

Master went a huntingA
When the leaves were fallingA
We saw him on the bridle pathB
We heard him gaily callingA
'Oh master master come you backC
For I have dreamed a dream so black 'D
A glint of steel from bit and heelE
The chestnut cantered fasterF
A red flash seen amid the greenG
And so good bye to masterF
-
Master came from huntingA
Two silent comrades bore himH
His eyes were dim his face was whiteI
The mare was led before himH
'Oh master master is it thusJ
That you have come again to us '-
I held my lady's ice cold handK
They bore the hurdle past herF
Why should they go so soft and slowL
It matters not to masterF
