By The North Sea Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCACA DEDEFGFG

Her cheek was wet with North Sea sprayA
We walked where tide and shingle meetB
The long waves rolled from far awayA
To purr in ripples at our feetB
And as we walked it seemed to meC
That three old friends had met that dayA
The old old sky the old old seaC
And love which is as old as theyA
-
Out seaward hung the brooding mistD
We saw it rolling fold on foldE
And marked the great Sun alchemistD
Turn all its leaden edge to goldE
Look well look well oh lady mineF
The gray below the gold aboveG
For so the grayest life may shineF
All golden in the light of loveG
