The young dead soldiers do not speakA
-
Nevertheless they are heard in the still housesB
who has not heard themC
-
They have a silence that speaks for them at nightD
and when the clock countsE
-
They say We were young We have diedF
Remember usG
-
They say We have done what we couldH
but until it is finished it is not doneI
-
They say We have given our lives but until it is finishedJ
no one can know what our lives gaveK
-
They say Our deaths are not ours they are yoursL
they will mean what you make themC
-
They say Whether our lives and our deaths were forM
peace and a new hope or for nothing we cannot sayN
it is you who must say thisO
-
We leave you our deaths Give them their meaningP
We were young they say We have died remember usG
