Burning the autumn fallen leavesB
They have no lives the one or the otherA
The leaves are dead the old men liveC
Only a little light as a leafD
Left to themselves of all their lovesE
Light in the head most often tooF
Raking the leaves raking the livesG
Raking life and leaf togetherA
The old men smell of burning leavesB
But which is which they wonder mdash whetherA
Anyone tells the leaves and loves mdashH
Anyone left that is who livesG
