Palacio good friendA
is spring thereB
showing itself on branches of black poplarsC
by the roads and river On the steepsC
of the high Duero spring is lateD
but so soft and lovely when it comesC
Are there a few new leavesC
on the old elmsC
The acacias must still be bareB
and the mountain peaks snow filledE
Oh the massed pinks and whitesC
of Moncayo massed up thereB
beauty in the sky of AragonF
Are there brambles floweringG
among the grey stonesC
and white daisiesC
in the thin grassC
-
On the belltowersC
the storks will be landing nowH
The wheat must be greenI
and the brown mules working sown furrowsC
the people seeding late cropsC
in April rain There ll be beesC
drunk on rosemary and thymeJ
Are the plum trees in flower Violets stillK
There must be hunters about stealthyL
their decoys under long capesC
Palacio good friendA
are there nightingales by the riverM
When the first liliesC
and the first roses openN
on a blue evening climb to EspinoO
high Espino where she is in the earthP
