When Sorrowes had begyrt me rovndA
And Paines within and outA
When in my flesh no part was sovndA
Then didst thou rid me outA
My burning flesh in sweat did boyleB
My aking head did breakC
From side to side for ease I toyleB
So faint I could not speakD
Beclouded was my Soul with fearE
Of thy Displeasure soreF
Nor could I read my EvidenceG
Which oft I read beforeF
Hide not thy face from me I cry'dA
From Burnings keep my soulB
Thov know'st my heart and hast me try'dA
I on thy Mercyes RowlB
O heal my Soul thov know'st I saidA
Tho' flesh consume to novghtA
What tho' in dust it shall bee lay'dA
To Glory't shall bee brovghtA
Thou heardst thy rod thou didst removeH
And spar'd my Body frailB
Thou shew'st to me thy tender LoveI
My heart no more might quailB
O Praises to my mighty GodA
Praise to my Lord I sayJ
Who hath redeem'd my Soul from pittA
Praises to him for AyeK
