I-ll Open The Window Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH BCHIHJKICIHHC LMC

Our embrace lasted too longA
We loved right down to the boneB
I hear the bones grind I seeC
our two skeletonsD
-
Now I am waitingE
till you leave tillF
the clatter of your shoesG
is heard no more Now silenceH
-
Tonight I am going to sleep aloneB
on the bedclothes of purityC
AlonenessH
is the first hygienic measureI
AlonenessH
will enlarge the walls of the roomJ
I will open the windowK
and the large frosty air will enterI
healthy as tragedyC
Human thoughts will enterI
and human concernsH
misfortune of others saintliness of othersH
They will converse softly and sternlyC
-
Do not come anymoreL
I am an animalM
very rarelyC
