Sonnet Xxxvii. Autumn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDEE F

Thro' changing Months a well attemper'd MindA
Welcomes their gentle or terrific paceB
When o'er retreating Autumn's golden graceB
Tempestuous Winter spreads in every windA
Naked asperity our musings findA
Grandeur increasing as the Glooms effaceB
Variety and glow Each solemn traceB
Exalts the thoughts from sensual joys refin'dA
Then blended in our rapt ideas riseC
The vanish'd charms that summer suns revealD
With all of desolation that now liesC
Dreary before us teach the Soul to feelD
Awe in the Present pleasure in the PastE
And to see vernal Morns in Hope's perspective castE
