Sonnet Xxv. [1]petrarch To Vaucluse Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCD E

Fortunate Vale exulting Hill dear PlainA
Where morn and eve my soul's fair Idol stray'dB
While all your winds that murmur'd thro' the gladeB
Stole her sweet breath yet yet your paths retainA
Prints of her step by fount whose floods remainA
In depth unfathom'd 'mid the rocks that shadeB
With cavern'd arch their sleep Ye streams that play'dB
Around her limbs in Summer's ardent reignA
The soft resplendence of those azure eyesC
Ting'd ye with living light The envied claimD
These blest distinctions give my lyre my sighsC
My songs record and from their Poet's flameD
Bid this wild Vale its Rocks and Streams ariseC
Associates still of their bright MISTRESS' fameD
