Sonnet Xlviii. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACDAEFEFEF

Now young ey'd Spring on gentle breezes borneA
'Mid the deep woodlands hills and vales and bowersB
Unfolds her leaves her blossoms and her flowersB
Pouring their soft luxuriance on the mornA
O how unlike the wither'd wan forlornA
And limping Winter that o'er russet moorsC
Grey ridgy fields and ice incrusted shoresD
Strays and commands his rising Winds to mournA
Protracted Life thou art ordain'd to wearE
A form like his and shou'd thy gifts be mineF
I tremble lest a kindred influence drearE
Steal on my mind but pious Hope benignF
The Soul's bright day spring shall avert the fearE
And gild Existence in her dim declineF
