Sonnet Xlv Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEDFGF H

From Possibility's dim chaos sprungA
High o'er its gloom the A rostatic PowerB
Arose Exulting Nations hail'd the hourB
Magnific boast of Science Loud they sungA
Her victory o'er the element that hungA
Pressing to earth the Beings who now soarC
Aerial heights but Wisdom bids exploreC
This vaunted skill if tides of air amongA
We know to steer our bark Here Science findsD
Her buoyant hopes burst like the bubble vainE
Type of this art guilty if still she blindsD
The sense of Fear persists thy flame to fanF
Sky vaulting Pride that to the aweless windsG
Throws for an idle Show the LIFE OF MANF

This Sonnet was written when the Balloon enthusiasm was at its heightH
