Sonnet Xliii. To May, In The Year 1783 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDEE F

My memory long accustom'd to receiveA
In deep engraven lines each varying traitB
Past Times and Seasons wore can find no dateB
Thro' many years O MAY when thou hadst leaveA
As now of the great SUN serene to weaveA
Thy fragrant chaplets in poetic stateB
To call the jocund Hours on thee to waitB
Bringing each day at morn at noon at eveA
His mild illuminations Nymph no moreC
Is thine to mourn beneath the scanty shadeD
Of half blown foliage shivering to deploreC
Thy garlands immature thy rites unpaidD
Meads dropt with gold again to thee belongE
Soft gales luxuriant bowers and wood land songE
