Sonnet Lxxxv. To March Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBABBAACDCDEE F

MARCH tho' the Hours of promise with bright rayA
May gild thy noons yet on wild pinion borneB
Loud Winds more often rudely wake thy mornB
And harshly hymn thy early closing dayA
Still the chill'd Earth wears with her tresses shornB
Her bleak grey garb yet not for this we mournB
Nor as in Winter's more enduring swayA
With festal viands and Associates gayA
Arm 'gainst the Skies nor shun the piercing galeC
But with blue cheeks and with disorder'd hairD
Meet its rough breath and peep for primrose paleC
Or lurking violet under hedges bareD
And thro' long evenings from our Lares claimE
The thrift of stinted grate and sullen flameE
-
Lares Hearth GodsF
