Sonnet Lxxxix. Subject Continued Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCD

Yon late but gleaming Moon in hoary lightA
Shines out unveil'd and on the cloud's dark fleeceB
Rests but her strengthen'd beams appear to increaseB
The wild disorder of this troubled NightA
Redoubling Echos seem yet more to exciteA
The roaring Winds and Waters Ah why ceaseB
Resolves that promis'd everlasting peaceB
And drew my steps to this incumbent heightA
I wish I shudder stretch my longing armsC
O'er the steep cliff My swelling spirits braveD
The leap that quiets all these dire alarmsC
And floats me tossing on the stormy waveD
But Oh what roots my feet what spells what charmsC
The daring purpose of my Soul enslaveD
