Sonnet Lxxvii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDEE| O hast thou seen a vernal Morning bright | A |
| Gem every bank and trembling leaf with dews | B |
| Tinging the green fields with her amber hues | B |
| Changing the leaden streams to lines of light | A |
| Then seen dull Clouds that shed untimely night | A |
| Roll envious on and every ray suffuse | B |
| Till the chill'd Scenes their early beauty lose | B |
| And faint and colourless no more invite | A |
| The glistening gaze of Joy 'Twas emblem just | C |
| Of my youth's sun on which deep shadows fell | D |
| Spread from the PALL OF FRIENDS and Grief's loud gust | C |
| Resistless oft wou'd wasted tears compel | D |
| Yet let me hope that on my darken'd days | E |
| Science and pious Trust may shed pervading rays | E |
