Sonnet Lxxi. To The Poppy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAACDEFGFGHH

While Summer Roses all their glory yieldA
To crown the Votary of Love and JoyB
Misfortune's Victim hails with many a sighC
Thee scarlet POPPY of the pathless fieldA
Gaudy yet wild and lone no leaf to shieldA
Thy flaccid vest that as the gale blows highC
Flaps and alternate folds around thy headD
So stands in the long grass a love craz'd MaidE
Smiling aghast while stream to every windF
Her gairish ribbons smear'd with dust and rainG
But brain sick visions cheat her tortur'd mindF
And bring false peace Thus lulling grief and painG
Kind dreams oblivious from thy juice proceedH
THOU FLIMSY SHEWY MELANCHOLY WEEDH
