Sonnet Lv. On The Quick Transition From Winter To Summer In The Year 1785 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABABCDEFDF

Loud blew the North thro' April's pallid daysA
Nor grass the field nor leaves the grove obtainsB
Nor crystal sun beams nor the gilded rainsB
That bless the hours of promise gently raiseA
Warmth in the blood without that fiery blazeA
Which makes it boil along the throbbing veinsB
Albion displeas'd her own lov'd Spring surveysA
Passing with volant step o'er russet plainsB
Sees her to Summer's fierce embraces speedC
Pale and unrobed Faithless thou well may'st hideD
Close in his sultry breast thy recreant headE
That did'st neglecting thy distinguish'd IsleF
In Winter's icy arms so long abideD
While Britain vainly languish'd for thy smileF
