Sonnet L Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBBBBBCBCDD

In every breast Affection fires there dwellsA
A secret consciousness to what degreeB
They are themselves belov'd We hourly seeB
Th' involuntary proof that either quellsB
Or ought to quell false hopes or sets us freeB
From pain'd distrust but O the miseryB
Weak Self Delusion timidly repelsB
The lights obtrusive shrinks from all that tellsB
Unwelcome truths and vainly seeks reposeB
For startled Fondness in the opiate balmC
Of kind profession tho' perchance it flowsB
To hush Complaint O in Belief's clear calmC
Or 'mid the lurid clouds of Doubt we findD
LOVE rise the Sun or Comet of the MindD
