The Mower's Song Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEECC FFEECC EEGGCC HIJKCC

My Mind was once the true surveyA
Of all these Medows fresh and gayA
And in the greenness of the GrassB
Did see its Hopes as in a GlassB
When Juliana came and sheC
What I do to the Grass does to my Thoughts and MeC
-
But these while I with Sorrow pineD
Grew more luxuriant still and fineD
That not one Blade of Grass you spy'dE
But had a Flower on either sideE
When Juliana came and SheC
What I do to the Grass does to my Thoughts and MeC
-
Unthankful Meadows could you soF
A fellowship so true foregoF
And in your gawdy May games meetE
While I lay trodden under feetE
When Juliana came and SheC
What I do to the Grass does to my Thoughts and MeC
-
But what you in Compassion oughtE
Shall now by my Revenge be wroughtE
And Flow'rs and Grass and I and allG
Will in one common Ruine fallG
For Juliana comes and SheC
What I do to the Grass does to my Thoughts and MeC
-
And thus ye Meadows which have beenH
Companions of my thoughts more greenI
Shall now the Heraldry becomeJ
With which I shall adorn my TombK
For Juliana comes and SheC
What I do to the Grass does to my Thoughts and MeC
