Rhyme Scheme: ABCCD EFGHI JKLME

What if the trees wanted to stand tall and upright mostly colourfulA
Showing off their muscles and selflessly sharing shade and oxygenB
What if they never fancied feeling the pain and tortureC
Of becoming pulp and fuel and exotically carved furnitureC
Sacrificing their deep routed bonds with the earthD
-
-
What if the earth preferred being flowing landscapes mostly admiredE
Spending its days basking in the sunlight and soaking up the rainF
What if it never expected to be brutally dissected andG
Constructed into brilliantly engineered concrete junglesH
Losing its fertile pride to ambitious creaturesI
-
-
What if the sea dreamt of being a palatial abode mostly charmingJ
To the wealth of inexplicably beautiful species it was home toK
What if it never imagined the trauma of being a secret hideoutL
For the disposal and storage of gross human atrocitiesM
At the cost of the very species it once fosteredE
