I am inside someoneA
who hates me I lookB
out from his eyes SmellC
what fouled tunes come inD
to his breath Love hisE
wretched womenA
-
Slits in the metal for sun WhereF
my eyes sit turning at the cool airF
the glance of light or hard fleshG
rubbed against me a woman a manH
without shadow or voice or meaningI
-
This is the enclosure fleshG
where innocence is a weapon AnH
abstraction Touch Not mineJ
Or yours if you are the soul I hadK
and abandoned when I was blind and hadK
my enemies carry me as a dead manH
if he is beautiful or pitiedL
-
It can be pain As now as all hisE
flesh hurts me It can be that OrM
pain As when she ran from me intoN
that forestO
Or pain the mindP
silver spiraled whirled against theQ
sun higher than even old men thoughtR
God would be Or pain And the other TheQ
yes Inside his books his fingers TheyS
are withered yellow flowers and were neverT
beautiful The yes You will lost soul sayS
beauty ' Beauty practiced as the tree TheQ
slow river A white sun in its wet sentencesU
-
Or the cold men in their gale Ecstasy FleshG
or soul The yes Their robes blown Their bowlsV
empty They chant at my heels not at yours FleshG
or soul as corrupt Where the answer moves too quicklyW
Where the God is a self after allX
-
Cold air blown through narrow blind eyes FleshG
white hot metal Glows as the day with its sunA
It is a human love I live inside A bony skeletonA
you recognize as words or simple feelingI
-
But it has no feeling As the metal is hot it is notY
given to loveZ
-
It burns the thingI
inside it And that thingI
screamsA2
