To Henry Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFGF HIHI JKJL

Think not while fairer nymphs inviteA
Thy feet dear youth to Pleasure's bowersB
My faded form shall meet thy sightA
And cloud my Henry's smiling hoursB
-
Thou art the world's delighted guestC
And all that pride desires is thineD
Then I'll not wound thy generous breastC
By numbering o'er the woes of mineD
-
I will not say how well how longE
This faithful heart has sighed for theeF
But leave thee happier nymphs amongG
Content if thou contented beF
-
But Henry should Misfortune's handH
Bid all thy youth's fond triumphs flyI
The crimson from thy lip commandH
And force the lustre from thine eyeI
-
Then thoughtless of my own distressJ
I'll haste thy comforter to proveK
And Henry shall my friendship blessJ
Although alas he scorns my loveL
