Song. To A Russian Air Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CACACDCD

WAS it for this I dearly loved theeA
But since at length I know thy heartB
And learn no real passion moved theeA
Go Henry go this hour we partB
-
But do not think past love forgettingC
That I thy foe can ever beA
My blighted hopes howe'er regrettingC
I still shall pray for bliss to theeA
I still no wrongs from thee resentingC
Shall wish Love's choicest treasures thineD
Though till life's closing sigh lamentingC
The power to bless thee was not mineD
