O Himalah O rampart of the realm of IndiaA
Bowing down the sky kisses your foreheadB
-
Your condition does not show any signs of old ageC
You are young in the midst of day and night's alternationD
-
The Kal m of r S n witnessed but one EffulgenceE
For the discerning eye you are an embodiment of EffulgenceE
-
To the outward eye you are a mere mountain rangeF
In reality you are our sentinel you are India's rampartB
-
You are the diwan whose opening verse is the skyG
You lead Man to the solitudes of his heart's retreatB
-
Snow has endowed you with the turban of honourH
Which scoffs at the crown of the world illuminating sunD
-
Antiquity is but a moment of your bygone ageC
Dark clouds are encamped in your valleysE
-
Your peaks are matching with the pleiades in eleganceE
Though you are standing on earth your abode is sky's expanseE
-
The stream in your flank is a fast flowing mirrorH
For which the breeze is working like a kerchiefI
-
The mountain top's lightning has given a whipJ
In the hands of cloud for the ambling horseE
-
O Himalah Are you like a theater stageC
Which nature's hand has made for its elementsE
-
Ah How the cloud is swaying in excessive joyK
The cloud like an unchained elephant is speedingL
-
Gentle movement of the morning zephyr is acting like a cradleM
Every flower bud is swinging with intoxication of existenceE
-
The flower bud's silence with the petal's tongue is sayingL
'I have never experienced the jerk of the florist's handB
-
Silence itself is relating the tale of mineN
The corner of nature's solitude is the abode of mine'N
-
The brook is melodiously descending from the high landB
Putting the waves of Kawthar and Tasn m to embarrassmentB
-
As if showing the mirror to Nature's beautyB
Now evading now rowing against the rock in its wayO
-
Play in passing this orchestra of beautiful musicP
O wayfarer The heart comprehends your musicP
-
When the night's Lailah unfurls her long hairH
The sound of water falls allures the heartB
-
That silence of the night whose beauty surpasses speechQ
That state of silent meditation overshadowing the treesE
-
That dusk's beauty which shivers along the mountain rangeF
Very beautiful looks this rouge on your cheeksE
-
O Himalah Do relate to us some stories of the timeR
When your valleys became abode of Man's ancestorsE
-
Relate something of the life without sophisticationN
Which had not been stained by the rouge of sophisticationN
-
O Imagination Bring back that periodB
O Vicissitudes of Time speed backwardsE
