Biography of Uzma Parveen


Uzma parveen was born in 1992. She is an Indian English poet from U.P, India. She belongs to an Islamic family. Her father is Mr, Ishteyaque Ahmad and mother Jameela Khatoon. She is the only daughter of her parents. She has studied Master Of Arts in English Literature from Aligarh Muslim university one of the best universities of India while English is her third language. She is essentially known for her bold and frank expression.
She has learnt art of versification of the free verse from John Keats who wrote ‘’ If poetry comes not as naturally as leaves to a tree, it had not better come’’. She is a feminist and a lover of nature and poet of humanity. She has been writing poetry for three years and after a couple of months she got a worldwide attention. She is a keen observer of life. She wanted to awaken the conscience of people, to raise voice against all the evils prevailing in the society and she chose writing to get a hearing. In her writing she explores human nature with great emphasis on emotions. Love is also a prominent theme of her poetry. She writes poetry in simple language. She is a great admirer of William Wordsworth who emphasized that the language of poetry should be simple because we do not write for poets only we write for common men too.

As a distinguished poet, she is the recipient of many awards from various literary forums. She has been declared one of the excellence awardees from many international groups such as Motivational Strips, Asian Literary Society, Prose and Picture With January Khan and Poetry Planet where she has won numerous competitions and also has been a Featured Artist. She is also a member of the brilliant groups Pentasy B world poetry and Friendship, and The Keynote Poets. Uzma Parveen has contributed her poems in more than forty National and International anthologies. She has also experienced on the various forms of Japanese poetry. Currently she is working on her first poetry book.
