Given not lentA
And not withdrawn once sentA
This Infant of mankind this OneB
Is still the little welcome SonB
-
New every yearC
New born and newly dearC
He comes with tidings and a songD
The ages long the ages longD
-
Even as the coldE
Keen winter grows not oldE
As childhood is so fresh foreseenF
And spring in the familiar greenF
-
Sudden as sweetG
Come the expected feetG
All joy is young and new all artH
And He too Whom we have by heartH
