This yet unfaded and a faded brow | B |
Bending these knees and feeble knees I pray | A |

Thoughts yet unripe in me I bend one way | A |
Give one repose to pain I know not now | B |
One leaven to joy that comes I guess not how | B |
I dedicate my fields when Spring is grey | A |

Oh rash I smile to pledge my hidden wheat | C |
I fold to day at altars far apart | D |
Hands trembling with what toils In their retreat | C |
I seal my love to be my folded art | D |
I light the tapers at my head and feet | C |
And lay the crucifix on this silent heart | D |
