Slave And Emperor Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CDECED FAGGGA HIJJHI KDDDD CAECEACA

'Our cavalry have rescued Nazareth from the enemy whose supermenA
described Christianity as a creed for slaves 'B
-
-
The Emperor mocked at NazarethC
In his almighty hourD
The Slave that bowed himself to deathE
And walked with slaves in NazarethC
What were his words but wasted breathE
Before that 'will to power'D
-
Yet in the darkest hour of allF
When black defeat beganA
The Emperor heard the mountains quakeG
He felt the graves beneath him shakeG
He watched his legions rally and breakG
And he whimpered as they ranA
-
'I hear a shout that moves the earthH
A cry that wakes the deadI
Will no one tell me whence they comeJ
For all my messengers are dumbJ
What power is this that comes to birthH
And breaks my power ' he saidI
-
Then all around his foundering gunsK
Though dawn was now not farD
The darkness filled with a living fearD
That whispered at the Emperor's earD
' The armies of the dead draw nearD
Beneath an eastern star '-
-
The trumpet blows in NazarethC
The Slave is risen againA
Across the bitter wastes of deathE
The horsemen ride from NazarethC
And the Power we mocked as wasted breathE
Returns in power to reignA
Rides on in white through NazarethC
To save His world againA
