Nippon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH GGGG GGIG JKFK

Last night I dreamed of NipponA
I saw a cloud of whiteB
Drifting before the sunsetC
On seas of opal lightB
-
Beyond the wide PacificD
I saw its mounded snowE
Miraculously changingF
In that deep evening glowE
-
To rosy rifts and hillocksG
To orchards that I knewH
To snows of peach and cherryI
And feathers of bambooH
-
I saw on twisted bridgesG
In blue and crimson gleamsG
The lanterns of the fishersG
Along the brook of dreamsG
-
I saw the wreaths of incenseG
Like little ghosts ariseG
From temples under FujiI
From Fuji to the skiesG
-
I saw that fairy mountainJ
I watched it form and fadeK
No doubt the gods were singingF
When Nippon isle was madeK
