Lene Levi went out in the eveningA
Mincing her skirt bunched upB
Through the long empty streetsC
Of a suburbD
-
And she spoke weeping aching crazyE
Strange wordsF
Which the wind tossed so that they poppedG
Like podsH
-
They made bloody scratches on treesI
And shredded hung on housesJ
And in these deaf streetsC
died all aloneK
-
Lene Levi went out until allL
The roofs made their crooked mouths grimaceM
And the windows and the shadowsN
Made facesJ
-
They had a completely drunken good timeO
Until the houses became helplessM
And the mute city passedP
Into the broad fieldsQ
Which the moon smearedR
-
Little Lene took out of her pocketS
A box of cigarettesT
Weeping took oneU
Out and smokedV
